Calavera Literaria
A Calavera Literaria is a satirical poem reminding the people that everyone is going to end up in the dead eventually. They were originally written in Mexico about the rich, reminding them that their money won't help them live any longer than the rest of us. I wrote mine about a comedian. I did not have any particular reason for this topic, I just began writing, and my pieces just came together.
Mi Frida!
We read a biography of Frida Kahlo's life in order to learn how to read, and write in the past tense. We picked a person, alive or dead, that had an intriguing life. I choose my father! We then wrote a biography in Spanish about that person’s life. Then we looked at a bunch of Frida’s paintings, and chose one to base our own art piece on. We worked mostly on reading, writing, and conjugating for the, past tense.
